My Art

I paint, sculpt and make tie-dyed and silk-screened clothing.
My work is inspired by landscapes, animals and characters from my book, Timmy the Tree Clown.

I like to experiment with materials and techniques. I use found objects in my art process to create different effects. I have used leaves in my tie-dye clothing and tree branches in my sculptures.

I have painted with my mouth, feet, left hand, feathers, sticks, my bike tires, pop cans and a little bit of everything, probably. I use acrylic and watercolor paints and sometimes add marker drawings over it.

I create sculpture with copper, tin, wire, wood, t-shirts and cast aluminum.

I tie-dye, silk-screen and use fabric paints on 100% cotton. I use procion dyes and silkscreen with water-based inks. I have baby clothes, t-shirts for adults and kids, women's dresses, hats and bandanas for sale. I also do custom orders.

I have been creating artwork for 20 years.
I attend Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. I make art in the studio and show in their gallery.
I show at local art fairs and festivals. This year I will be at Red Hot Art at Stevens Park and Art-A-Whirl.
I have an artist mentor, Sara Hanson, and we work together in her studio.

At 2 1/2 I got a fever and the measles because of a mosquito bite, and from this I got encephalitis. The doctor said that I would not walk or talk and I had to go to Sister Kinney Institute and they helped me. My mom and family helped me too. My dad built a foot brace to help me learn how to walk and I went to speech therapy. I live independently, have a part time job and make a lot of art.

My Book

I wrote the story and drew the pictures for my book, Timmy the Tree Clown. Marie Olofsdotter, a mentor through Interact Center, helped me.
My book is about me. I want to go up over the rainbow to meet the 2-headed animals and play music with them.
I have sold about 200 copies that were printed and made by family members.
My book is currently not for sale. I am trying to get somebody to print and assemble them or to find a publisher.
